Installation InstructionsWhat you will need:
Optional (recommended but not supplied)
1. Open your tripod and using a small Philips head screwdriver and pliers, remove the bolts and locking nuts holding the leg brace assembly from each of the three tripod legs. Save the bolts and nuts for reassembly. 2. Using a small Philips head screwdriver, remove the twelve screws that attach the six original brackets to the tripod legs. These brackets and screws will not be used again. Once removed the tripod leg will resemble Fig 6. If necessary, use the Emory cloth to remove any burrs around the original screws holes in the tripod. 3. Remove the new brackets from their shipping bags. Using the small Philips head screwdriver, push the supplied screws to the bottom of the a new bracket so the threads are poking out. Apply Loctite Blue to each screw as shown in Fig 8. 4. Position the first bracket over the two holes where the original bracket was and using the screwdriver, gently tighten the screws so the new bracket is flush against the tripod leg. (See Fig 9 and Fig 10) WARNING: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE SCREWS OR ELSE THEY WILL STRIP. THE THREADLOCK COMPOUND WILL HELP HOLD THE SCREW IN PLACE ONCE IT CURES. 5. Repeat the process on the remaining 5 brackets. (See Fig 11 and Fig 12) 6. Once all six brackets are attached, let the Loctite "cure" for a minimum of 24 hours. Fig 13 shows the finished work. If you are not using the Loctite, or once 24 hours has past, proceed to the next page. |
